Marable's Minerals

Marable’s Minerals is a small, family-owned business founded by Dallas Marable in late 2022 after a many-months-long apprenticeship. Dallas is a proficient lapidarist specializing in turquoise cabochons and hand-strung mineral bead jewelry. His mother, Leslie, is helping by trying her hand at stonework and some beginner silversmithing, his father, Michael, offers his unwavering moral support.

Originally from Knoxville, TN, Dallas Marable has been a rockhound all his life, and has always had an eye for the natural beauty of the Earth and the minerals she produces. This led him to pursue an apprenticeship with his mentor, veteran cabochoner, Paul Sugar, Sr., who opened the door to the turquoise industry of the southwest.

 With meticulous eye and careful consideration, Dallas takes rough rock and chooses the appropriate cuts to make slabs, then further divides each slab into individual stones. After cutting out the stone preforms, each one is dopped onto a wooden dowel and is then ready for shaping, polishing, and buffing.
